Kobe Bryant out at least another three weeks with knee injury
Kobe Bryant is still experiencing pain and swelling in his left knee, according to the Lakers.
The Lakers’ All-Star guard was examined before the team’s Tuesday night battle against the Indiana Pacers by Dr. Steve Lombardo.
Bryant will be reevaluated again in about three weeks. In the meantime, he’ll continue to exercise primarily on a stationary bike.
After sitting out the start of the season until Dec. 8, rehabbing an Achilles’ tendon injury, Bryant fractured his lateral tibial plateau in a 96-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Dec. 17.
Bryant has played in just six games for the Lakers this season, averaging 13.8 points and 6.3 assists. Injuries have decimated the team, which was 16-29 heading into the game Tuesday.
The three-week delay will knock Bryant out of the NBA All-Star game on Feb. 16. He’ll miss a minimum of seven more Lakers games.
