Larry Nance Jr. apologizes to fans for Kobe Bryant tweet
After being selected by the Lakers on Thursday with the 27th overall pick in the NBA draft, forward Larry Nance Jr. has already done a lot of apologizing.
Since his ill-advised 2012 tweet about Kobe Bryant was discovered only minutes after the Lakers selected the Wyoming senior, Nance has been on a tour of contrition.
On Monday, Nance tweeted the following statement:
Laker fans.. I know I left a terrible first impression, and I apologize for the entire incident. But I plan to earn your respect by wearing the purple and gold honorably and giving you all I have on and off the court. Hopefully these next couple of days, weeks, months, I can make you all look past this time and instead look forward to our upcoming season! I’m ecstatic to be in LA and to play my role in restoring the Lakers to their dominance behind the guidance of my new coaches and teammates! #GoLakers
Nance has communicated directly with Bryant, who said it was “water under the bridge.â€
