Directors Michael Hamilton and Corey Ogilvie have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $110,000 in funding to market “Nash: The Documentary.â€

The documentary gives insight into the life of Lakers point guard Steve Nash, focusing on his personas as athlete, philanthropist and family man.

“I think you’re measured not just by your skill or your fame or your wealth, but by your character,†President Obama says in the film. “I think by that standard, Steve is going to do very well.â€

Others who share their thoughts on Nash include Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Baron Davis, Snoop Dogg, Yao Ming and NBA Commissioner David Stern.

“This project has given me a front-row seat to the never-dull but sometimes very private life of Steve,†Hamilton said. “His prowess and work ethic on the court speaks for itself, but now fans will get a rare glance into what drives one of the world’s most influential people off the court.â€

Hamilton, the creative force behind the documentary, founded Crunchtime Films in association with Donnelly Films.
