Kobe Bryant celebrated his 35th birthday last week, still diligently trying to rehab his repaired Achilles tendon.

The Lakers’ all-star guard unveiled a video that showed him running on a weight-bearing treadmill. He also took in the championship game at the Drew League.

Bryant, and his wife, Vanessa, put their home in Newport Coast up for sale.

Prior to a special-event conversation at the Nokia Theatre with Jimmy Kimmel, Bryant took time to meet with terminally ill Army Sgt. Anthony Zavala, who was immensely moved by the experience.

Former Laker Ronny Turiaf spoofed Bryant’s car-jumping commercial from 2008 -- the Minnesota Timberwolves center jumped over a toy truck.

Jodie Meeks also had a birthday, turning 26 on Wednesday.

Rehabilitating his knees in Spain, Pau Gasol saw his Spanish national team beat France in a EuroBasket tune-up. Raising money for charity, Pau and Marc Gasol have given fans the chance to play a game of two-on-two with the NBA brothers.

The Lakers previewed their new “Hollywood Nights†black jersey, which will be worn for select games over the coming season. The team will also wear white jerseys with short sleeves on occasion, starting on Christmas Day.

Clippers all-star Chris Paul was named president of the NBPA, and Lakers guard Steve Blake was named to the executive committee as a vice president. Derek Fisher’s tenure as president comes to an end -- the former Laker (and current member of the Oklahoma City Thunder) also coached a team at the Ball Up Streetball Classic Tour.

Magic Johnson responded to being left off LeBron James’ all-time top-three list.

According to player development coach Mark Madsen, rookie forward Elias Harris has been working diligently with the Lakers’ coaching staff.

Lakers summer leaguer Lazar Hayward attempted to teach Nicole Richie how to play basketball.
