Chris Paul, who was at the Clippers’ facility Friday to present season-ticket holder Chance Lavitch with keys to a new Jeep Grand Cherokee because he was the half-court shot winner during an April Clippers game at Staples Center, said he still plans on playing on the USA Olympic basketball team.
Paul said he especially is looking forward to going to camp next month in Las Vegas with Clippers teammate Blake Griffin.
“The last time I played, I was the only member from my team there,” Paul said. “So it’ll be fun to have my partner in crime there with me so we can enjoy that experience together.”
Paul said he was looking forward to going to London for the Olympic Games.
He was on the Olympic basketball team that won the gold medal in Beijing, China, in 2008.
“When I played in 08, we were a little bit younger -- or I was younger and all the guys that were on the team were a little bit younger,” Paul said. “We competed and we took it all in. But it’s nothing like I think this year will be because for a lot of us, I think it will be our last Olympic experience. So we’re definitely going to treasure it and bring home the gold.”
