Update: A year after the Carmelo Anthony trade, the Nuggets look like the clear winner, partly because of the emergence of Italian sharpshooting forward Danilo Gallinari, once considered a throw-in. Gallinari is averaging a career-best 17.4 points a game and recently signed a four-year, $42-million contract extension. In the first week of this season the Lakers and Nuggets split a pair of back-to-backs, with each team winning at home.
