Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright to miss several weeks with sprained foot

Arizona All-American linebacker Scooby Wright is out again after spraining his right foot against UCLA on Saturday, his first game back after suffering a left knee injury.
Wildcats Coach Rich Rodriguez said Monday that the junior will be out “several weeks.”
Wright missed most of the first three games after suffering a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee, an injury that required surgery. Wright swept the major national defensive awards as a sophomore last season.

Florida State running back Mario Pender will miss the game Saturday at Wake Forest because of a collapsed lung suffered at practice last week.
In three games for the 11th-ranked Seminoles (3-0 overall, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), Pender has 140 yards on 30 carries and a touchdown.

Eastern Kentucky announced that freshman defensive lineman Joey Kraemer died in a single-car accident over the weekend in Richmond, Ky. Kraemer, 19, redshirted last season at Texas El Paso before transferring to Eastern Kentucky.

Former Baylor football coach Grant Teaff is recovering at home after being hospitalized with blood clots in his lungs. The 81-year-old Teaff has been executive director of the American Football Coaches Assn. since 1994.
