Tampa Bay Rays catcher Curt Casali was put on the 15-day disabled list one day after straining his left hamstring running the bases after hitting a home run Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins.
Casali’s leg started getting tight en route to first base after his 10th home run, and ninth since the All-Star break, in the fifth inning. He slowly finished his trip around the bases with a slight limp before heading toward the clubhouse.
Twins put J.R. Graham on DL
The Minnesota Twins put right-hander J.R. Graham on the 15-day DL because of right shoulder inflammation one day after his first major league victory.
Graham gave up one run over two-thirds of an inning against Tampa Bay on Tuesday. The Rule 5 draft pick was 1-1 with a 5.15 earned-run average in 34 games, including one start.
