Jacobs isn’t a Cowboys fans fan

Dear Dallas Cowboy fans,

Brandon Jacobs isn’t a fan of yours.

In a break from preparations for Sunday’s winner-take-all finale against the Cowboys, the New York Giants running back took a moment last week to rip the “loud and obnoxious and just plain bad” fans of the team with a star on its helmet.

“You know what it is?” Jacobs told reporters. The reason a “lot of people and a lot of guys on other teams hate the Cowboys is their fans ... Just everywhere you go, you got some Dallas fans, and they’re just running their mouths about Dallas.

“It’s not really the team and the star and all that, ‘cause they’re just like any other team if you ask me. But their fans are the ones who have me just really feeling the way I feel.”

This came days after Jacobs got in a postgame shouting match with Jets Coach Rex Ryan, telling him to “Shut up, fat boy!”

In the Giants’ 37-34 victory at Dallas three weeks ago, Jacobs rushed for 101 yards and picked up the slack for Ahmad Bradshaw, who was benched for the first half for violating curfew. That was Jacobs’ only 100-yard game of the season, and he also scored a pair of touchdowns, taking delight in dancing on the Cowboys’ end zone star.

“It was definitely a fun thing,” Jacobs said. “I’m just trying to be able to get in the end zone a couple of times this week as well. Whatever I got to do to help this team win and get to the next level, that’s it.”

Jacobs said he expects there to be a significant number of Cowboys fans at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

“Oh, there’s going to be a lot of them here, no question about it,” he said. “It’s going to be a bunch of them here, and they’re going to have a lot of support here. We just got to go out there and do what we got to do. It’s still our home field.”
