Track & Field: Newton third in 800 at prelims

Ellis Newton of Mayfair qualified third overall in the boys 800 in 1:53.84, David Manahan of Harvard-Westlake was fifth in in 1:53.90 and Sergio Rodriguez of Redondo also qualified for Saturday’s finals in 1:54.25.
