Water polo: Mater Dei hands No. 1 Harvard-Westlake its first defeat

Harvard-Westlake’s 50-match win streak in high school water polo has come to an end.
No. 2-ranked Santa Ana Mater Dei knocked off No. 1 Harvard-Westlake, 11-10, on Wednesday night at Mater Dei.
The Monarchs held All-American Ben Hallock to one shot attempt through the first two quarters in opening an 8-6 lead.
Harvard-Westlake was down 11-7 in the fourth quarter before making the Monarchs sweat with a late rally.
