Track: City Section championships are set for Wednesday

The City Section track and field championships will be held on Wednesday at Birmingham High. Field events begin at 3 p.m., with the first running event at 5:30 p.m.
Palisades junior Marissa Williams could be the top athlete of the night. She could sweep the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 races.
Carson’s Brandon Hasson had the fastest qualifying time in the boys’ 100. Teammate Justin Collins is favored to sweep the two hurdle races.
Carson and Dorsey will do battle for the boys’ title. Carson and Palisades are favored in the girls’ competition.
Top competitors will advance to next weekend’s state championshiips in Clovis.
