Leo Lambert III takes small step toward comeback
Two seasons ago, Leo Lambert III was the most promising freshman on the Sherman Oaks Notre Dame football team, rushing for 2,067 yards and 34 touchdowns.
He was supposed to make his varsity debut last fall, but a beign tumor was found in his jaw by a dentist and required 8 1/2 hours of surgery, forcing him to miss the entire season.
Another surgery was needed, setting back his comeback.
But last Saturday, he took a small step, returning to run for the track team in the 100 and 1,600-meter relay.
Notre Dame still has high hopes for the sophomore in track and in football in the fall.
