Lacrosse: City Section approves boys’ and girls’ championships

For the first time, the City Section will hold championships for boys’ and girls’ lacrosse after the minimum six schools competing was reached. The City Section Board of Managers approved the championships on Monday at their monthly meeting.
There will be a four-team semifinal played in the morning, followed by a championship in the evening.
Schools had been competing in the Southern Section lacrosse competition.
Palisades is expected to become a heavy favorite to win the City Section boys’ title, with Birmingham the favorite in girls’ lacrosse.
