In a marathon West Valley League girls’ volleyball match that was as good as any championship match, El Camino Real pulled out a five-set win over Granada Hills on Tuesday.
The Conquistadores won, 25-22, 15-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-13.
Trinity Goodman had 14 kills and Kayla Jacks added 12 kills for the Conquistadores. Sarah Hagge led Granada Hills with 29 kills.
El Camino Real stamped itself as perhaps the favorite to win the City Section Division I title. The Conquistadores are expected to become even stronger on Monday when Sylmar transfer Kaushanna Williams becomes eligible.
Later Tuesday night, Chatsworth and Taft had their own five-set West Valley League thriller, with Chatsworth winning the final set, 15-12.
Tinei Suitonu finished with 25 kills and eight aces.
