Football: There are 34 unbeaten teams in Southern California
There are still 34 unbeaten 11-man football teams, 29 in the Southern Section, after the first seven weeks of the high school season.
That seems to be an unusually high number, which may be because some teams that have rarely had success are enjoying terrific seasons, along with lots of schools sticking with playing neighborhood teams rather than testing themselves outside of their comfort zone.
