Football: St. Bonaventure prevails over Hart in controversial finish

Things couldn’t have gotten more exciting than the finish of St. Bonaventure vs. Hart on Friday night.
Clinging to a 42-38 lead after scoring two touchdowns in the final five minutes, St. Bonaventure only needed to stop Hart for one final play. Hart quarterback Nick Moore threw an apparent game-winning 26-yard touchdown pass to Brock Williams as time expired.
But a penalty flag was thrown. The official called offensive pass interference on Williams. Video shows him pushing off on 5-foot-5 cornerback Braxton Rodgers.
“That’s a judgment by the ref,” Hart Coach Mike Herrington said.
“He got pushed,” St. Bonaventure Coach Adam Guerra said.
Darius Vines of St. Bonaventure then picked off Moore to end the game.
Vines struggled for much of the game at quarterback, with three interceptions. But when the game was on the line in the fourth quarter, he passed for one touchdown, ran for another and came up with the interception to help St. Bonaventure improve to 4-1.
