Football: Receivers from SoCal lead Washington, Washington State
Recruiters always like to talk about the great quarterbacks from Southern California high schools, but what about the great receivers?
Washington and Washington State keep winning because of their Southern California connections at receiver.
On Saturday, John Ross (Long Beach Jordan) caught two more touchdown passes for Washington and Dante Pettis (JSerra) had the game-winning 58-yard punt return for a touchdown to keep the Huskies unbeaten in a win over Utah.
Gabe Marks (Venice) became Washington State’s career record holder for touchdown receptions in a 35-31 win over Oregon State. He caught eight passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Also catching key passes were Kyle Sweet (Santa Margarita) and River Cracraft (Santa Margarita).
