Football: QB Lars Nootbaar rallies El Segundo to 10th consecutive victory
- Share via
Things were looking pretty bleak on Friday night for unbeaten El Segundo, down by 10 points in the fourth quarter to Santa Monica.
But nothing is impossible with quarterback Lars Nootbaar around. He led a fourth-quarterback comeback, scoring on a six-yard run and tossing a 46-yard touchdown pass to help El Segundo defeat Santa Monica, 17-13, to finish 10-0 and win the Ocean League championship.
“You are watching greatness right now in Lars Nootbaar,” Coach Steve Shevlin told the Daily Breeze.
Nootbaar, a senior committed to USC for baseball, has passed for 2,002 yards and 25 touchdowns with one interception this season.
