Long Beach Millikan and Lakewood are investigating an altercation that occurred in the locker room after Friday’s Moore League game, a spokesman for the school district said Monday.
The incident began when a Millikan player allegedly kicked a helmetless Lakewood player during the game at Lakewood. No penalty was called and no ejection was made, but the action was captured on video.
After the game, an adult reportedly entered the Millikan locker room, leading to an altercation.
No injuries were reported and no arrests were made in connection with the incident, according to the Long Beach Unified School District.
Millikan Coach Derwin Henderson said he was unaware of the alleged kicking incident until later in the weekend, and that he was not present during the locker room clash. He said the player who appears to have been involved in the kicking incident would be subject to disciplinary action.
Lakewood won the game, 34-14.
