Football: Let’s see who can stop South Gate’s Lavell Thompson

South Gate has no concerns about dropping to the No. 5 seed in the City Section Division II because of three forfeit defeats. The Rams have somebody nobody else has _ running back Lavell Thompson. And, if you want to win the Division II championship, at some point, you’ll have to figure out how to stop Thompson.
In nine of 10 games this season, Thompson has rushed for 100 or more yards. And he’s saving his best for last.
Against South East in game No. 10 last week, he ran for a season-high 212 yards. There’s no more holding back.
Thompson is going to be turned loose by Coach Jose Casagran, and we’ll see if he ends up on Dec. 6 at the Coliseum.
