Football: Freshman QB J.T. Daniels takes over at Mater Dei
- Share via
Junior quarterback Matthew McDonald of Santa Ana Mater Dei suffered a broken left arm on Friday night in the first quarter against Tesoro and will likely be sidelined four to six weeks, Coach Bruce Rollinson said.
That means the Monarchs (2-0) have turned over the offense to freshman J.T. Daniels, who completed eight of 12 passes for 146 yards and one touchdown in a 35-14 win over Tesoro. Daniels played for the JV team on Thursday.
Mater Dei’s offensive line is the key to the offense doing well. Running back Brandon LaMarche rushed for 205 yards.
