Football: Former Oaks Christian, Westlake QBs doing quite well
- Share via
Coaches can’t wait to get a former Oaks Christian or Westlake quarterback.
It has become almost a yearly occurrence waiting to see which quarterbacks leave and where they show up.
There are former Oaks Christian or Westlake quarterbacks starting at Brentwood, Grace Brethren, Salesian, Calabasas, Chatsworth, Moorpark, Simi Valley and if I left anyone out, forgive me. There’s another former Westlake quarterback, Malik Henry, who could be starting at Long Beach Poly.
Holden Thomas, who was the starting quarterback for Oaks Christian to begin the 2014 season, has passed for 831 yards and 10 touchdowns at Brentwood.
The reason for the yearly exodus is that people want to start at the varsity level and apparently don’t want to wait a year or two for their chance.
The fact Oaks Christian has a sophomore, Matt Corral, as its starter could lead to more quarterbacks leaving from the lower levels.
It’s a strange happening but follow the dots and follow the former quarterbacks from Oaks Christian and Westlake.
