Junior college football programs don’t usually get quarterbacks from the powerful Mission League. Those players end up going to four-year programs.
But Grant Kraemer (Sherman Oaks Notre Dame) and Devon Dunn (Alemany) transferred back to Southern California after attending Tufts and Baylor, respectlvely. And each made impressive season debuts on Saturday.
Kraemer, playing for Glendale College, completed 27 of 44 passes for 478 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-31 win over East Los Angeles College.
Dunn, playing for College of the Canyons, passed for 370 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-6 upset of highly regarded Mount San Antonio College. Dunn played last season at COC.
A former Angelus League quarterback, Ty Gangi (St. Francis, Colorado), made a brief appearance for Ventura College.
