Football: Chaminade takes charge in third quarter vs. Venice
Three short touchdown runs by Cory Watkins has given Chaminade a 50-33 lead over Venice in the third quarter on Friday night. The Eagles trailed at halfttime, 33-28.
Chaminade’s Robert Hernandez made an interception of Venice quarterback Alexander Diamont to set up one touchdown. The Eagles recovered a fumble on the three-yard line after a kickoff to set up another touchdown.
Watkins scored on runs of one, five and one yards.
Update: Watkins has scored four touchdowns in the second half, and Chaminade has a 57-33 lead over Venice with 6:18 left.
