Football: Cathedral regroups to move closer to league title
After playing without 10 suspended players last week in a loss to St. Francis, Cathedral got six back on Friday night and knocked off Harvard-Westlake, 13-12, to move to within one win of gaining at least a share of the Angelus League title.
The Phantoms (8-1, 3-1) need a win over St. Paul next week.
Cathedral Coach Kevin Pearson is still dealing with issues on the offensive line as a result of players being punished for an alleged hazing incident.
“You can make excuses or get better,” he said.
Quarterback Andrew Tovar has been running for his life the last two weeks, disrupting the Phantoms’ usually effective passing offense.
“He’s under duress,” Peason said.
But Cathedral will be making some adjustments to aid Tovar and the offense.
