Football: Calabasas is up to 10 players with scholarship offers

Calabasas is suddenly a place to be for high school football. The Coyotes have 10 players with scholarship offers, according to Coach Casey Clausen.
The latest is Brian Hightower, a 6-foot-3 sophomore receiver who transferred to Calabasas last month from North Carolina. He has offers from Nebraska, Tennessee and Arizona State.
The Coyotes recently added another transfer with standout linebacker Alec Stevenson moving from Malibu.
The Coyotes will be competing in the Southern Section Western Division this fall. They finish up their summer passing competition next weekend at the Conejo Valley tournament.
They made it to the semifinals of the Saugus tournament, losing to Bishop Amat.
Clausen was impressed with Bishop Amat receiver-defensive back Trevon Sidney.
“He’s the best football player I’ve seen since Steve Smith, and he’s a step faster,” Clausen said.
