Football: Big games for players from South Gate and South East
There were big individual games from neighborhood rivals South Gate and South East on Thursday night.
En route to a 60-0 win over Arleta, South Gate’s Jamaal Neal caught three touchdown passes and scored another touchdown rushing. Quarterback Ernie Arica completed 17 of 23 passes for 351 yards. Tremar Holliness rushed for 119 yards in eight carries.
In a 38-36 loss to Carson, South East quarterback Edward Norton rushed for 267 yards.
The battle for supremacy in South Gate will take place Oct. 21 at South East.
