Football: Alemany is off to fast start with sophomore quarterback
- Share via
Lots of coaches like to say, “We’re young,” when their team struggles.
Alemany Coach Dean Herrington has no complaints with his team at 3-0 behind sophomore quarterback Brevin White, who has completed 59% of his passes for 721 yards and seven touchdowns.
Sophomore running back Jordan Anderson has 135 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Junior linebacker Lamin Touray leads the defense with 33 tackles.
Alemany appears to be one of the top teams in the Mission League, if not the favorite, but there’s plenty of challenges ahead. Last season, the Warriors finished 7-3 and didn’t make the playoffs.
They face Dorsey at home on Friday in a final tuneup before league play begins. Dorsey played Santa Margarita tough before losing, 33-13.
