CIF enacts new protocol to prevent sudden cardiac arrest

The CIF Federated Council voted unanimously last week to enact new training and education protocol on “Sudden Cardiac Arrest.”
The new law adds SCA training to coach certification and practice and game protocal. Coaches are empowered to remove a player who exhibits fainting, a sign of a potential heart condition.
Costs to implement the new protocol are being provided by Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation and Simon’s Fund.
