Boys’ basketball: Daniel Hamilton, Tyler Dorsey key St. John Bosco victory
Daniel Hamilton had 27 points and 18 rebounds and Tyler Dorsey added 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead St. John Bosco past Long Beach Millikan, 83-69, in a quarterfinal game of the Redondo tournament. St. John Bosco will play Mayfair in Friday’s semifinals.
Malik Marquetti led Millikan with 25 points. Mark Thomas had 22 points. Redondo defeated Campbell Hall, 68-60, and will face Westchester in the other semifinal.
In a consolation game, Narbonne defeated Rolling Hills Prep, 77-32. Freshman Jeremiah Galang had 19 points.
At the Corona Centennial tournament, No. 2 Etiwanda opened with a 96-55 victory over Dorsey. Jordan McLaughlin scored 30 points. No. 5 Corona Centennial defeated Diamond Bar, 84-40. Kyle Hamilton scored 13 points and Deontae North, Sedrick Barefield and Khalil Ahmad had 11 apiece.
At the Alhambra tournament, L.A. University defeated Yeshiva, 62-46. Tre Weston scored 22 points and had 20 rebounds. Darnell Bettis had 18 points and five assists.
Buckley defeated Verbum Dei, 68-37. Austin Butler contributed 15 points and Chase Holliday 13.
