Baseball: Trevor Brown becomes latest former Hart player in majors

Trevor Brown, a catcher in the San Francisco Giants organization, has been called up to the major leagues, making him the fourth former Newhall Hart player to make it to the majors this season.
“Is that sweet? That’s awesome,” Hart Coach Jim Ozella said.
In the majors are pitchers Trevor Bauer (Indians) and James Shields (Padres). Pitcher Mike Montgomery (Mariners) played earlier this season. It’s possible a fifth former Hart player could make it before the season ends. Pitcher Tyler Glasnow is one of the top prospects in the Pirates organization.
“I’m fired up,” Ozella said.
Ozella was particularly pleased about Brown, who became a standout at UCLA under Coach John Savage.
“Brown was a kid out of high school hardly anyone was recruiting,” he said. “John jumped on him at the end. He can play five positions.”
