Baseball: Taft opens season with 6-3 win over Carson
- Share via
There’s little doubt that the West Valley League will be the strongest in the City Section this season in baseball, and Woodland Hills Taft gave an indication on Tuesday how good the league is, opening the season with a 6-3 win over Carson.
The Toreadors might be sixth-best in the league preseason predictions, but they are also pretty good.
Justin Thomas had three hits and Jayson Newman pitched six innings to pick up the victory.
Action begins up on Friday with the beginning of the Poly tournament. Cleveland plays at Poly and the Cavaliers face Granada Hills Kennedy on Saturday at home.
