Left-hander Jeremy Polon of El Camino Real, the top pitcher in the City Section last season, has committed to San Jose State.
Polon was 11-1 last season. He was the pitcher of the year in the West Valley League and the co-City Section player of the year.
He helped the Conquistadores win the Division I championship and is set for his senior season. Moving to the Bay Area makes his coach, Josh Lienhard, happy. Lienhard is a big San Francisco Giants fan.
However, Polon will stick with the Dodgers.
“He’s still going to be rooting for Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers,” Lienhard said.
