Baseball: JSerra clinches at least share of Trinity League title behind Jack Owen
JSerra clinched at least a share of the Trinity League championship on Saturday with a 7-0 win over Servite.
Jack Owen struck out nine and walked none in six shutout innings. Brady Shockey had three hits.
El Dorado clinched the Crestview League championship with a 2-0 win over El Modena. Jake Mahood threw six shutout innings.
Huntington Beach defeated Los Alamitos, 1-0, to clinch the Sunset League title. Mitchell Kovary threw a three-hitter. The Oilers scored in the seventh helped by a double from Cooper Moore.
Beckman pulled out a 2-1, 10-inning win over Corona del Mar. Adam Lamar threw all 10 innings without surrendering a single walk. He struck out two. Connor Fidone had three hits.
El Toro defeated Tesoro, 4-2. Josh Zamora had two RBIs.
In the Southwestern League, Chaparral pulled off a sweep of Vista Murrieta, 5-0. Cameron Haskell had two hits and three RBIs and also allowed one hit in six innings on the mound.
In the Del Rey League, St. Paul defeated Bishop Amat, 1-0. Bryan De La Torre and Jacob Guzman combined on a three-hitter. Diego Barerra allowed four hits in defeat.
Trevor Franklin improved to 10-0 while pitching Mira Costa to a 4-1 win over Gardena Serra.
Loyola received a three-run home run from Matt McGeagh in a 9-2 win over Long Beach Poly. Derek Marshall added two RBIs.
In the Baseline League, Chino Hills defeated Etiwanda, 4-3. Bailey Falter struck out nine in a complete game, allowing three hits.
In the Palomares League, Glendora stayed in first place with a 4-1 win over Diamond Bar. Austin Isenhart (8-2) threw a four-hitter. Caleb Watkins contributed three hits.
Moorpark defeated Quartz Hill, 12-1. Max Friz had two hits and four RBI.
Oaks Christian defeated Whittier Christian, 3-0. Nic Frangos allowed one hit in six innings, striking out eight. Riley Helland had two hits.
