Baseball: Holt Maybank pitches Palisades past No. 1 El Camino Real, 4-0
Perhaps they should throw a parade for pitcher Holt Maybank at Palisades after what he pulled off on Friday in a City Section Division I quarterfiinal playoff game.
Maybank limited No. 1-seeded El Camino Real to two hits in a 4-0 victory, sending the Dolphins into Tuesday’s semifinals against Chatsworth at 3 p.m. at USC. He struck out one and walked two and also had two hits and an RBI.
Chatsworth broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the seventh to defeat Banning, 5-2. Garrett Kueber had the big hit, a two-run double. Sam Shaikin had two hits.
Narbonne got a complete game from Adrian Padilla to defeat Granada Hills, 7-0. Isaiah Flowers hit a home run. Narbonne will face Birmingham at 6 p.m. at USC. Birmingahm rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Kennedy, 4-3.
The date for the semifinal games has been changed from Wednesday to Tuesday at USC.
The final is next Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dodger Stadium.
