Baseball: Hagen Danner strikes out 13 in Huntington Beach victory

So far, so good for Huntington Beach, which got 13 strikeouts from sophomore Hagen Danner on Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the National High School Invitational in Cary, N.C.
The Oilers defeated Washington Puyallup, 6-0.
Danner allowed three hits and walked two in a complete-game performance.
Cooper Moore had two hits.
San Clemente advanced to the semifinals with a 5-3 win over Texas College Station. Tanner Lawson had two hits and two RBI and Will Tribucher added two hits. Tribucher threw 6 1/3 innings, striking out four and allowing three hits.
The two local schools, San Clemente and Huntington Beach, will meet in a Friday semifinal.
In a consolation game, JSerra defeated. St. Thomas Aquinas, 2-0. Jack Owen gave up five hits in 6 2/3 innings.
