Baseball: El Camino Real is seeded No. 1 for City Section Division I playoffs
Seven-time City Section champion El Camino Real has been seeded No. 1 for the Division I baseball playoffs that begin with wild-card games on Thursday and have first-round games on May 19.
The quarterfinals are May 22. The semifinals are May 27 with a doublheader at Birmingham High and the championship game is May 30 at Dodger Stadium.
El Camino Real’s one-two pitching combination of juniors Jeremy Polon and Jordan Berg lifted the Conquistadores to the West Valley League championship.

No. 16 Verdugo Hills or No. 17 San Fernando at No. 1 El Camino Real
No. 9 Birmingham at No. 8 Marshall
No. 12 Garfield at No. 5 Hamilton
No. 20 Taft or No. 13 Roosevelt at No. 4 Narbonne
No. 19 Huntington Park or No. 14 Granada Hills at No. 3 Kennedy
No. 11 San Pedro at No. 6 Cleveland
No. 10 Poly at No. 7 Banning
No. 15 Palisades or No. 18 Sylmar at No. 2 Chatsworth
Wild-card games Thursday: San Fernando at Verdugo Hills; Taft at Roosevelt; Huntington Park at Granada Hills; Sylmar at Palisades.
