Baseball: Edison is 14-1 after 10-inning victory

Huntington Beach Edison players must have ice water in their veins and certainly love to play extra innings.

Earlier this season, they won a 12-inning game over Huntington Beach at Angel Stadium. On Tuesday, the Chargers improved to 14-1 overall and 4-0 in the Sunset League with a 4-3, 10-inning win over Newport Harbor. Wyatt Adams (4-0) got the win and Jake Scott had the game-winning RBI on a double.

Logan Pouelsen threw six shutout innings in Huntington Beach’s 4-0 win over Fountain Valley. Hagen Danner went two for two. Los Alamitos defeated Marina, 5-1.

Dana Hills (14-2-1) defeated Santa Barbara, 7-1. Justin Sterner had a two-run single for Dana Hills. Aliso Niguel defeated Bishop Manogue, 12-2. Freshman Connor Knox had three hits and three RBI. Kyle Molnar struck out seven and walked none in five innings.

In the Marmonte League, Timmy Burtzloff struck out four and threw the shutout in Westlake’s 4-0 win over Thousand Oaks. Tyler Flores and Grant Ferguson had two hits each. Agoura defeated Oaks Christian, 13-2. Matt Lautz and Joey Dawes each had three RBI.

Calabasas defeated Newbury Park, 5-2. Grant Nechak threw a complete game, striking out six. Nate Ryngler had a home run and three RBI. Parker Brahms added three hits.

In the Anaheim Lions tournament, the championship game on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Glover Field will match San Dimas and Bonita. Bonita defeated Sonora, 3-1. San Dimas improved to 13-0 with a 9-0 win over Buena Park. Peter Lambert had a home run and Tommy Acuna added two hits. Jonathan Longtin got the victory.

Crespi defeated San Dieguito, 6-2. Chris May had a home run and double.

El Toro defeated Sacramento Jesuit, 4-0, behind pitcher Noah Fluman.

Narbonne defeated New York Sanquoit, 4-2. Sophomore David Ramirez threw a complete game. Daniel Rocha had two doubles and Jonathan Saldana added two RBI.

Glendora defeated Riverside Poly, 9-3. RJ Romo and Nolan Collett each had three hits.

Servite and Corona Santiago finished in a 1-1 eight-inning tie. Ryan Rutherford threw six hitless innings for Santiago.

Escondido defeated Taft, 3-1. Warren defeated Palos Verdes, 3-1. Steven Nuno had two hits and Jose Ruiz threw a complete game.

Sierra Canyon defeated Horizon, 12-1, to improve to 9-1. Brock Bell, Karl Kani, Seth Stone, Zack Tavelman and Billy Edwards each had two hits.

El Camino Real defeated Bishop O’Dowd, 3-2, on a walk-off two-run double by Eric Yang.

Sun Valley Poly defeated Independence, 4-1. Michael Galindo had two RBI.

In the Del Rey League, Cathedral defeated La Salle, 8-5. Jason Pacheco had three hits and four RBI.

Orange Lutheran defeated Chaminade, 4-0, and 2-0, in a doubleheader doubleheader. Luke Mattson and Jacob Castro combined on the shutout in the first game. Chris Buca and Cameron Hook threw the shutout in the second game. The Eagles were limited to two hits in the second game.

Loyola defeated Cleveland, 8-3. Matt McGeagh and Justin Morris each had two hits.

Beckman defeated Corona del Mar, 11-5. Ryan Carpenter went three for three with two RBI. El Modena defeated Anaheim Canyon, 6-0. Zach McKay threw five shutout innings.

In the Pacific League, Pasadena defeated Burroughs, 5-3. Niko Lopez had two RBI. Crescenta Valley defeated Hoover, 5-4.

Simi Valley defeated Mt. Carmel, 4-1. Kody McLain struck out eight, walked none and allowed two hits in nine innings. Royal defeated La Quinta, 6-1, to improve to 9-2.

La Mirada defeated Cerritos, 6-2. Granada Hills defeated Chula Vista, 11-2. Matt Nash had two hits and two RBI.

Adam Ash had 11 strikeouts in a 17-4 win over New Community Jewish over Liberty Charter.

In Las Vegas, Chatsworth defeated Centennial, 14-6. Nick Henry had four hits.

Hamilton defeated Port of L.A., 10-0. Ethan Lazar had two doubles and three RBI.
