Baseball: City Section’s final week will decide league titles
It’s the final week of the regular season in City Section baseball, with several league races still to be decided.
In the Valley Mission League, Granada Hills Kennedy (18-11, 10-0) and San Fernando (17-7, 10-0) face off in a two-game series. Monday’s game is at Kennedy and Wednesday at San Fernando.
In the Eastern League, Roosevelt (18-9, 8-2) can pull into a first-place tie if it can beat Garfield (14-10, 9-1) on Monday night at East Los Angeles College.
In the West Valley League, El Camino Real (21-7, 7-1) plays at Cleveland (21-9, 7-1) on Tuesday and hosts Cleveland on Thursday.
In the Marine League, Narbonne (22-7, 6-1) plays at San Pedro (19-9, 6-2) on Monday and hosts the Pirates on Wednesday.
The City Section playoff seeding meeting is May 11. The West Valley champion almost certainly will be the No. 1 seed and the runner-up probably will be No. 2. Then Northern League champion Marshall and the Marine League champion will be in the running for the Nos. 3 and No. 4 spots.
