Carl Crawford singles twice in Dodgers’ 5-3 loss to Diamondbacks

PHOENIX -- Carl Crawford collected his first hits in six months, slapping a pair of singles and driving in two runs in the Dodgers’ 5-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday at Camelback Ranch.

Crawford’s last hits came on Aug. 17, before the Boston Red Sox traded him to the Dodgers as part of a multi-player package.

He singled through the left side of the infield in the third inning. His fifth-inning single to center field drove in Elian Herrera and Dee Gordon.

With Josh Beckett pitching in a simulated game instead of making his scheduled start, mound duties fell to a collection of relievers.

Josh Wall was charged with a run and four hits in two innings. Peter Moylan gave up two runs and two hits in one inning. Paco Rodriguez yielded a run and a hit in two innings.

Shawn Tolleson retired the side in the sixth inning, striking out two.
