Kenley Jansen has more heart trouble; lost for rest of year?

Kenley Jansen was held out of the Dodgers last two games on Tuesday and Wednesday because of his heart condition.

Jansen spent a month on the disabled list last season with an irregular heartbeat. He had to take blood thinners to get his condition under control and, with fear of possibly hemorrhaging, was not allowed to play.

If it’s the same situation now, Jansen would probably be lost for the rest of the season.

Jansen would not address his condition with reporters after the Dodgers’ 10-8 victory in Denver, and did not give the training staff permission to discuss it.

The only information the team did release was that his heart problem was related to the one he experienced last season.

With Jansen unavailable, the Dodgers used Ronald Belisario to close Wednesday’s game. He earned his first save of the year. Jansen leads the Dodgers with 25 saves and has been extremely dependable since taking over the closer’s role from Javy Guerra in early May.
