Ryan Braun lifts Milwaukee over Dodgers, 3-2

KEY MOMENT: They love to boo Ryan Braun at Dodger Stadium, but the Brewers third baseman had his moment in the fourth inning. With Carlos Gomez on second with a double, Braun lifted a two-run home run just over the right-field wall. Gomez added a solo shot in the sixth.

AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers managed only six hits against Milwaukee right-hander Yovani Gallardo in his eight innings. After Carl Crawford beat out an infield hit and stole second, Justin Turner singled him home. Matt Kemp’s solo home run in the ninth off former Angel Francisco Rodriguez brought the Dodgers within one. It was Kemp’s 172nd career home run, breaking a tie with Pedro Guerrero and moving him into fifth on the L.A. Dodgers’ all-time list.

ON THE MOUND: Clayton Kershaw was again excellent, minus two swings. Kershaw threw a complete game five-hitter, striking out 11. Trouble was he gave up the two homers. It was the first complete-game loss of Kershaw’s career.

DAILY DL MOVE: The Dodgers placed Juan Uribe on the disabled list for the second time this season because of a strained right hamstring. He sat out 34 games earlier this season because of the same injury. Uribe said the pain was similar to the first injury. He said he felt the hamstring go Friday night while chasing down a foul ball that was caught by catcher A.J. Ellis. The Dodgers called up infielder Carlos Triunfel from triple-A Albuquerque to fill Uribe’s spot on the roster. Triunfel has gone two for 14 in four previous call-ups this season and struggled defensively.

EXTRA BASES: It’s rare for runner’s interference to be called on a double play, but the Brewers managed it on consecutive nights. This time Rickie Weeks was called for it after he made a belated adjustment on his slide into second, attempting to take out Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas on the relay to first.
