Hanley Ramirez scratched from Dodgers lineup with right elbow strain
Reporting from Denver — Hanley Ramirez was scratched from the Dodgers lineup Tuesday because of what the team described as a strained right elbow.
Ramirez was replaced in the lineup by utilityman Justin Turner, who will bat sixth against the Colorado Rockies in the second game of a three-game series.
Ramirez was sidelined for two weeks in August with a strained side muscle. That was the only time he was on the disabled list this season, but he has dealt with numerous other physical ailments.
The former All-Star has sustained injuries to his left hand, right thumb, right ring finger, left calf, left hand (again), right shoulder, left wrist and left leg.
As a result, Ramirez has played in only 119 of the Dodgers’ 150 games.
