Chris Capuano finds a late home, is reportedly signed by Red Sox

The career of Chris Capuano lives on, and in a pretty decent place too.

Capuano has reportedly signed with the Boston Red Sox, making him the last Dodgers free agent to find a mew home, though he managed it with the World Series champions. Capuano is from Massachusetts.

Capuano, 35, will add rotation depth for the Red Sox, who were need of it after Ryan Dempster announced he would not pitch this season.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported Capuano will receive a base salary of $2.25 million from the Red Sox, with performance bonuses that could take it to $5 million. He already received a $1-million buyout from the Dodgers.

Capuano struggled to stay healthy last season, having to overcome calf, shoulder and groin injuries. He finished the season 4-7 with a 4.26 earned-run average and a 1.41 WHIP.

The left-hander could be effective, but he became difficult for the Dodgers to count on, so they let him go and signed starters Dan Haren and Paul Maholm.

Still, you have to wish him well. He never became a clubhouse problem and ultimately was willing to move to the bullpen to help the team, and try to win a playoff roster spot. He appeared in one division-series game against the Braves, picking up a win, but did not make the roster in the National League Championship Series against the Cardinals.
