KEY MOMENT: Trailing, 3-0, in the fifth, Chris Iannetta walked, and Collin Cowgill bunted for a single, the first hit off White Sox starter Hector Noesi. Mike Trout lofted a fly ball that barely cleared the wall near the left-field foul pole for a three-run homer, his 19th of the season, and a 3-3 tie. Albert Pujols followed with a solo shot to right-center, his 17th of the season, for a 4-3 lead.

AT THE PLATE: Josh Hamilton hit his first homer since June 3, a solo shot to right-center in the seventh. It marked only the second time Trout, Pujols and Hamilton, whose contracts are worth $509 million, homered in the same game. All three homered in a 6-2 win over Kansas City on May 14, 2013. Iannetta added two clutch hits, RBI singles in the sixth and eighth innings.

ON THE MOUND: After newly acquired reliever Rich Hill allowed a single and two walks to open the ninth, Angels Manager Mike Scioscia summoned closer Joe Smith with a five-run lead. Smith got Alexei Ramirez to ground into a double play, a run scoring, and Dayan Viciedo to ground out to notch his eighth save.
