Rita Moreno and Vince Gill are among the acts to perform in Musco’s inaugural season
The Marybelle and Sebastian P. Musco Center for the Arts, which opened at Chapman University in Orange in March, has announced the lineup for its inaugural season.
It is as follows:
Oct. 4: The Time Jumpers, featuring country singer Vince Gill and Western swing artists Kenny Sears and “Ranger Doug†Green. 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 5: Classical pianist Peter Serkin is joined by Julia Hsu in “a keyboard four-hands tour de force featuring the music of Beethoven, Brahms, Bizet and Schubert.†7:30 p.m.
Oct. 8: The Ahn Trio, three sisters who were born in Korea and educated at Juilliard, form a classical music ensemble. 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 15: BODYTRAFFIC is a young dance company that blends a variety of styles with quirky humor. 7:30 p.m.
Oct. 28: F.W. Murnau’s vampire thriller “Nosferatu†will be accompanied live by the Los Angeles Opera orchestra performing a new score. 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 16: An evening with NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, who will speak about his lengthy stay on the International Space Station and the physical changes from long-term space flight. 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 17: Stars of the hit television series “Masters of Illusion†make a stop with their touring magic show. 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 18: The Philharmonic Society of Orange County presents Ray Chen and members of the Berlin Philharmonic. 8 p.m.
Dec. 11: Aaron Neville holiday concert. 7:30 p.m.
Jan. 21, 2017: The Philharmonic Society of Orange County presents the Kronos Quartet, a string quartet with an eclectic approach. 8 p.m.
Feb. 5: A piano concert featuring Swiss-Chinese pianist Louis Schwizgebel. He’ll perform Beethoven, Chopin and Mussorgsky. 7:30 p.m.
March 11: Rita Moreno, actress and singer who has won the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony, will reflect on her career. 7:30 p.m.
March 16: Banjo-playing husband and wife team Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn. 7:30 p.m.
March 17: Jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves. 7:30 p.m.
April 8: Island Soul: A Celebration of Hawai’ian Music and Culture is a daylong festival with free outdoor performances and events.
