Man killed in single-car crash identified as 75-year-old Milpitas resident
Authorities have identified a man who died Wednesday afternoon after crashing his car into a traffic signal pole in Huntington Beach as Hwa Chen, a 75-year-old resident of Milpitas.
Officers responded to the area shortly after noon after receiving a report of a single-vehicle traffic crash, the Huntington Beach Police Department said in a news release.
Responding officers discovered a silver 2002 Honda Accord with Chen still in the driver’s seat. He was alone in the car.

Chen was pronounced dead at the scene, said department spokeswoman Jennifer Marlatt.
During the investigation, police shut down the intersection.
