Huntington Beach police are asking for help in identifying a man suspected of stealing a remote-controlled vehicle from a hobby store.
The man walked into Rob’s RC Hobbies at 15071 Goldenwest St. around 3:20 p.m. Sept. 28, according to authorities.
“When the clerk wasn’t watching, he grabbed a Traxxas Slash Robbie Gordon Edition RC truck and left the store,” police said.
The man then got into the passenger side of a black four-door Nissan Frontier pickup that was waiting outside.
Police used Facebook to post photos of the man taken from surveillance cameras. No description was available of the truck’s driver.
The type of vehicle that was stolen is priced at more than $200 on several websites.
Authorities asked that anyone with information about the case call Huntington Beach police at (714) 375-5066 or post tips on the Police Department’s Facebook page. Anonymous tips can be made to Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS (847-6227).
