Orange Coast League finals

COSTA MESA — Estancia High junior Cassie Stevenson shot (72-80) 12-over-par 152 to win the league event Wednesday at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda course.

Laguna Beach’s Taylor Weiss (169) was second, Estancia’s Frankie Thorpe (182) was third and Costa Mesa’s Marcie Mathieu (185) was fourth.

LAKEWOOD — Newport Harbor High seniors Charlotte Skjonsby and Kate Lamas were among the top 16 who advanced to Thursday’s finals.

Charlotte Skjonsby shot three-over-par 40 at Lakewood Golf Course Wednesday and is in fifth. She was four-over through her first four holes, but then shot one-under over the final five holes, collecting two birdies along the way.

Lamas shot 45 and is in 16th.

Thursday’s finale of 18 holes takes place at Mile Square Golf Club.

Tara Hanna (46), Lauren Willard (49), Christina Ferraro (51) and Hanna Perry (59) also competed for Newport Harbor.

Estancia 17, Sage Hill 5

COSTA MESA — Paul Sugano-Dyson scored six goals for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Wednesday.

Brooks Watkins added four goals and goalie Garrett Henshied had 14 saves for Estancia (6-11, 2-2 in league).

The Eagles play at Santa Ana Valley to open the Central Orange County tournament Friday.

SANTA ANA — Ilene Umansky had 10 digs for the Eagles, who lost the Orange Coast League match, 26-24, 25-22, 25-21, Wednesday.
